Welcome

Welcome to Information Resources, your gateway to the library's online catalog, physics and engineering databases, electronic journals and scientific information resources, full-text Jlab publications, professional paper preparation information, and records management assistance!

The American Library Association's national theme for 2011 is "Create your own Story at your library". In the library, we like to feel that our library service is exemplary and that our patrons are well taken care off in their needs for research and information. We would like for you to leave with a happy ending to your experience at the library!

Library Reconfiguration:

The JLab Library will be undergoing a reconfiguration in the coming weeks. This change, prompted by the increasing need for space at the Lab, will give the Library a smaller physical presence and accelerate the shift to a more electronic and interactive Library. From now until June 10, staff may check out books that will not be kept in the Library, on admin-loan status.

Updates:

4/25/2011: Presentation to Leadership
5/16/2011: Status update
5/26/2011: Status update and Space Analysis
Library Committee Meeting follow-up: 1:30pm, Tuesday, May 31, 2011; CEBAF Cener F224-F225.

Library News:

Library service continues to enhance the virtual collection. Recent additions include the complete Nature, Optical Society and AIP collection of current journals; as well as the complete backfiles for AIP's Applied Physics Letters, Journal of Applied Physics and Review of Scientific Instruments. Springer, Wiley and CRC Engineering and Physics and Astronomy e-books are a significant boost to our holdings. Search the online catalog using the terms "Springerlink", "Wiley Interscience", and "CRCnetBase" to scroll through the title list. Also, see the specific titles listed in the right hand menu. Link to electronic journals via the "online journals" link in the left-hand menu or, you may find that you can link from a number of sources on the internet.

Mycopy - Springer can provide a personal copy of any e-book that we have purchased (2005 - 2008) as long as it is a Springer imprint/publication and, not longer than 800 pages. Users pay only $24.00 per copy. See the Mycopy icon at the top of the specific Springer link page. For an example page click here:

Jefferson Lab Library has been granted access to the Royal Society of Chemistry E-Journal titles through December 2010. To search for articles within the RSC search engine click here
