After upgrading to hpux 10.20 and installing manually the ncd
services and files, I find that X is behaving weird.
I don't get the server displayed in the broadcast list, but when
giving the ip address I get through .. almost. I get the screen
flash, the sand clock and an eternal wait. When looking in the
messages window in the explora, I can see complaints about a missing
fonts.dir and bad element keyboard, looping at an incredible speed.
Well, I've added every single font directory from the server to my
font path, ran mkfontdir everywhere and my keyboard has no problems
(i.e, telnet runs fine with all danish chars..). It still loops. I
broke my theories when I forced a log out, and then immediately a log
in. Perfect! No messages. But just after a failing login -and
sometimes.
Am I being paranoid or is it really something in this new HP
version?? HP normally delivers a well configured X host...
any ideas appreciated!
