So please, if you insist on running long jobs on ifarms1, lower the
priority of the process.
Type "top" to see the nice level of your job and its PID.
Type "renice 10 [PID]" to lower the priority of your job.
Then you can run top again to see that the nice of your job has been
increased (higher nice, lower priority).
Look, I'm not trying to get all the cpu cycles. I just want a place where
I can do short runs and get reasonable processsing speed. You know, you
make a change to your code and want to see it's effect with limited
statistics before you run the whole job (on the batch farms). I thought
this is exactly what ifarms1 was for.
