Friends,

Here is the schedule for the collaboration meeting to be held Thur-Sun,
June 4-6 at Jefferson Lab. There are still a few details to settle because
communication with people has been difficult this week. This length is
required to get in all the business I felt appropriate after consultaion
with those I was able to reach.

We will have what are hopefully final CALCOM talks about the detector
properties. We are rapidly moving toward physics results, making many
issues worth airing. There will be talks on e1 and g1 results and on
various software progress.

Because of this progress, we also have important collaboration business
that you should all think about. We need a policy on conference talks
and on journal article submissions. The Charter is 'somewhat loose' on
these subjects and we need to have working agreements and, where appropriate,
Bylaws or Charter changes. I think we should have Physics working groups
deal with Journal articel approval, but perhaps our present working
groups are too large. Setting speakers for conference talks is much
trickier, I have heard of a variety of solutions that we will have to
consider. We will have a public discussion on these issues Saturday
and hopefully plenty of private discussion before that. Anyone with an
opinion they want to air can send me email, I will broadcast to the
collaboration if desirable.

To highlight the need to keep the detector working at top condition, I have
scheduled another discusssion of monitoring. Thinking of the future, we
need to be more involved with the upgrade planning. Bernhard has had
regular Friday meetings; he will report on progress and there will be
a discussion. He would want me to
emphasize that there are many opportunities for people to contribute.

I will send a more detailed schedule as it evolves.

best wishes,
Steve
