I've created a few benchmark files. They are simple enough to re-create
just using KINE 3 (which is how I made them), but I agreed to make them,
so I did.
They're to be found in the JLAB directory /home/esc/gsim/mc_input area.
One thing I'd like to experiment with is what is a convenient way to
archive them. Right now each type of run has its own directory, with the
idea that we might put more informative documentation files in them soon.
The naming convention at the moment is like:
e_1_1_20_60_-10_10.mci
This means: electrons of momentum range 1 GeV to 1 GeV, theta range 20
degrees to 60 degrees, phi range -10 degrees to 10 degrees. MCI means
Monte Carlo Input. These have 1000 events each; you can always TRIG on
fewer.
As I said, these are 'trivial' files to make, but we should try to use
them to get experience with what is the best arrangement for future work.
I'd be interested to know what the run time ratio (from the end of the
output file) is for the following two files:
e_1_1_30_30_0_0.mci
e_1_1_30_30_30_30.mci
The default parameters are fine, except I'd use AUTO 1 of course.
I plan to do more, in particular CELEG events, but may not get to it
before the meeting.
Best regards,
- Will
