SHMS User's Group

General Information

Following on from the suggestion of a more formal organisation of those groups involved in the design and construction of the SHMS by the Hall C Detector Design and Safety Review, a committee was charged with this task at the Hall C summer workshop. This committee felt that a relatively open organisation would facilitate communication and collaboration within the Hall C user community. Currently it is envisaged that a SHMS User Group would exist in parallel with the Hall C steering committee; it will be up to the users to decide if the SHMS Users Group becomes the single formal Hall C users organisation at a later date.

Draft Bylaws

The draft of the SHMS Users Group bylaws is currently available here. The bylaws and organisation of the SHMS Users Group will be discussed in detail during the Hall C users meeting in January 2009. Should you have immediate feedback concerning these bylaws please do not hesitate to contact any of the organising committee members listed below.

Garth Huber, John Arrington, Steve Wood, Howard Fenker, Hamlet Mkrtchyan, Ioana Niculescu, Peter Monaghan.

Email List

An email list for those interested in the SHMS Users' Group has been created. This list is intended to improve the communication between interested users on all issues pertaining to the design, construction and commissioning of the SHMS and all related subsystems and software. To subscribe to the SHMS Users email list, send a single line email to majordomo@jlab.org with the words "subscribe shms_users" in the body of the message.
